The Royal Berkey® is a generously sized stainless-steel gravity water filter designed for families and households with higher daily drinking-water needs.
Its 12.3-litre capacity provides plenty of filtered water for drinking, cooking and entertaining, while still remaining practical for a kitchen benchtop. With no electricity or plumbing required, it is equally at home in the kitchen, at a holiday property, while travelling or as part of an off-grid or emergency water setup.
Each original Royal Berkey is supplied with two genuine Black Berkey® Elements and can accommodate up to four elements when faster filtration is required.

Why Choose the Royal Berkey?
Generous capacity without becoming oversized
The Royal sits neatly between the Big Berkey and the larger Imperial and Crown systems. Its 12.3-litre lower chamber gives families considerably more filtered-water storage without taking up the bench space of the largest Berkey models.
For households where several people are filling glasses, drink bottles and cooking throughout the day, that extra capacity makes a noticeable difference.
Simple gravity filtration
There are no hoses, electrical connections or permanent installation requirements. Fill the upper chamber and gravity draws the water through the Black Berkey® Elements into the lower chamber.
This makes the Royal Berkey easy to use at home and equally useful in locations where plumbing or reliable power may not be available.
Expandable when you need more flow
The Royal is supplied with two Black Berkey Elements but can accommodate up to four.
Adding extra elements increases filtration speed, making the Royal particularly versatile for larger households or times when demand for filtered water is higher.
Genuine Black Berkey filtration
Black Berkey Elements have undergone independent laboratory testing against a broad range of drinking-water contaminants, including heavy metals, chemicals, pesticides, VOCs and other substances.
They have also been independently tested for reduction of PFOA and PFOS, two of the best-known PFAS “forever chemicals”.
Filter Life
A pair of Black Berkey® Elements is rated for up to approximately 20,000 litres under appropriate operating conditions.
Actual service life will vary depending on incoming water quality, sediment levels, frequency of use, cleaning and maintenance.
We recommend replacing the elements before pushing them to their maximum rated capacity, helping maintain consistently high filtration performance and water quality.
