Made in the UK by Doulton, the British Berkefeld® Ultra Fluoride combines ceramic filtration with fluoride-reduction media in a single filter candle. There’s no separate fluoride attachment to purchase or maintain.
Tested to reduce fluoride by up to 98.9%*, it also helps reduce chlorine, bacteria and heavy metals while retaining naturally occurring minerals for better-tasting water.

For fluoride reduction, use Ultra Fluoride elements in every active filter position. Do not mix them with Ultra Sterasyl elements, as water passing through the Ultra Sterasyl filters will not receive the same fluoride treatment.

What Does It Reduce?
The Ultra Fluoride filter is designed to:
Reduce fluoride by up to 98.9% under the stated test conditions.*
Reduce chlorine and improve taste and odour.
Reduce heavy metals, including lead.
Filter bacteria, cysts, sediment and fine particles.
It retains naturally occurring minerals rather than removing all dissolved solids.
Filter Capacity & Replacement Approximate replacement capacities:
5.75-inch filter: 1,250 litres per filter.
7-inch filter: 1,500 litres per filter.
Two 7-inch filters: 3,000 litres combined.
Three 7-inch filters: 4,500 litres combined.
Actual filter life depends on incoming water quality, fluoride concentration and usage. Earlier replacement may be necessary. Follow the capacity and time-based replacement guidance supplied with your filters.
Using multiple elements shares the workload and increases total system capacity and flow. Cleaning the ceramic surface can help restore flow, but does not renew exhausted fluoride-reduction media.
What to Expect from Ceramic Filtration Flow may be slow during initial conditioning and can improve as the ceramic becomes fully wetted. Filtration speed varies with water level, the number of elements installed, source-water quality and filter cleanliness.

Filter instructions
Installation & First Use No pressure priming is required, but the filter must be conditioned before drinking the filtered water.
Follow the instructions supplied with your specific filter for rinsing, surface cleaning and the number of initial fills to discard. Use clean equipment and avoid soap or detergent on the ceramic element.

A Note on TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) New ceramic filters can temporarily raise TDS readings as small amounts of soluble minerals enter the water during conditioning. These filters also retain naturally occurring minerals, so a lower reading after filtration isn’t necessarily expected.
A higher reading alone does not mean your filter is faulty. TDS meters cannot confirm fluoride reduction or water safety. Follow the supplied conditioning instructions and contact us if elevated readings persist.
