Lead Leaching from Brass Fittings In Australia and the UK

As a follow us on my last blog post I discovered this article. It largely reviews the same study as in the SBS article but then highlights that after the discover of dangerous levels of lead leaching into water "In 2014, the US government mandated a lead limit of 0.25 per cent in plumbing fittings. Taps in Australia and the UK are typically made of brass that contains lead at a level of about 2 to 4 per cent."

With so many cases now of issues in water quality from Lead, PFAS or many other contaminates surely we are upping out testing of water across NSW and Australia. However this is not the case and we are seeing less monitoring across the state leading to more uncertainty of our water supplies.
